Hello hello! Happy Friday everyone. It’s truly been quite the week. Not necessarily one I hope to re-visit any time soon. However, today’s Weekend Whimsy by Staci Jones is just what the doctor ordered to chase the blues away!

Summer, although one of my favorite seasons, sure seems long when all the kids are out of school. It gets even longer when the words of “I’m bored” are heard. I really struggle thinking up fun activities on the spot and am such a planner that having ideas on hand makes everything so much better. Last summer I created a bucket list for my kids and this summer I have decided to do an activity jar.

Doodlebug’s “Fruit Stand” Collection was absolutely the perfect mix of bright, summery colors and fun summer fruits that made it the perfect collection to use.

Chestnut Drive Templates give a really fun wave effect while the Celebrate Templates are so versatile. Pair them with the embellishment from the collection and you have a really quick, easy, and fun way to enjoy the summer.

Throw a little Tiny Floral on top and you are all set!

The Celebrate ticket template is perfect for writing activities on. Some of our activities will include, making and blowing bubble, making a foam craft, building birdhouses, going to the library, going to the park. Find things that your kids would like and more importantly, things you can handle them doing without stressing you out too much. :)

Thanks for stopping by today. If you guys have any fun summer activities that you kids love doing, please share. I am in need of more ideas! Have a great day!

Supplies:

  • Doodlebug “Fruit Stand”
  • Chestnut Drive 3 A&B, 2 A&B
  • Celebrate 3,4,5
  • Tiny Floral 2
  • AC Twine

Staci, this is just soooo happy! As much as I love and look forward to the lazy days of summer, the boredom that accompanies it is never any fun. I dare say I’ve got to get making an activity jar for our home!

As promised I also want to announce the winner of last weeks blog hop. The lucky random winner is Laura Baldwin. Congrats Laura! If you would please email jen@kiwilane.com within 2 weeks she will take care of arranging your $25.00 gift code to spend in the Kiwi Lane shop!

Also one more quick reminder that this months featured sets, Chestnut Dr., Celebrate and Tiny Floral are all on sale all month long!
