I can’t believe we are already to the half way mark of our  inspiring 12 Days of Christmas journey. Today is of no exception to the outstanding inspiration rule! The creative giant, Susan Budge, shows us just how easy it is to take inspiration from one layout design and springboard it into another look. Such a great idea when time is of the premium. I mean why not make the most of your crafty moments and knock out more than one layout spread with a stellar design? Multi—tasking. I’m alllllllll about it. (Although I still haven’t quite learned that it’s not always productive to try multi-tasking brushing teeth and putting on makeup).

The Designer Templates are very inspirational when you move them around and come up with layers of designs on your own, but if you are looking to get a page done fast use ANY of the layouts you see in gallery to complete a layout. It is amazing how the moment you change up some accessories and paper it changes the look.

I used this Holiday Page as my inspiration for my layout
Clara Lane 2a2b, Christmas 1, 2, 3, 4, Tiny Holiday 6T, Paradise 6,  Tags 1, Adorn 3a, Tiny Strips, Photos and Photo Mats. Simple Stories paper
Using the NEW My Minds Eye paper that we have in the Kiwi Lane Shop, I followed the same design. You will notice that the borders “Frame” are the same, but I added different accessories and ended up rotating the left side of the layout.
Clara Lane 2a2b, Tags 1, Adorn 1a1b, Nature 1, 5, Tiny Nature 1T, Tiny Shapes 3T, 7T, Bracket 1, Strips, Photo Mats
And a little splash of bling? Perfection!
Look at the attention to detail! NIIIICE!
Try doing the same by picking any of the layouts or cards in our Gallery and if you are up to sharing on our Facebook page, we would love to see what you come up with!

Every Christmas eve we have opened one present each….. The children all knew it was new PJ’s to wear so we all would look good Christmas morning. Now that they are grown and come back for Christmas they still want their new PJ’s for Christmas morning.

  2. cheepscrapper December 8, 2012 at 10:28 pm

We all love to stay up late wait until 12am , dec 25. Say our bday greetings to Jesus, and open each other’s gifts!! this is a tradition in my side of the family, now added to us 3 sisters, & Dad are my husband, our daughter & my bro-in law.
I sure miss doing this with my mom (deceased), and older sister who is in the middle east.

    • Brenda Tisdale December 7, 2012 at 7:44 am

My favorite time during Christmas is how we all go to midnight mass on Christmas Eve. We have been doing every year at the same Church since I started going to school there. My husband and I got married there, my daughter was baptized there, and now we get to start the family tradition with her. The family keeps growing but we still make sure we all make it to mass. It wouldn’t be Christmas without it! Merry Christmas! !!

  10. Susan Cutrer December 6, 2012 at 11:39 pm

My favorite tradition is Christmas Eve dinner with my children and grandchildren. The grandkids love to have sparkling cider that they get to drink out of wine glasses. The layouts are gorgeous. Thanks for all the great ideas.

  11. Pamela Pitts Ostapkowicz December 6, 2012 at 9:21 pm

My favorite holiday tradition, is getting together Christmas day, the only day of the year my entire family gets together… Each person brings a dish, even the turkey and the ham, and the person hosting only has to clean up from the gathering… Because I am one of 10 kids, with 27 nieces and nephews, we no longer exchange gifts… We only enjoy a wonderful meal, and a years worth of conversation and catching up!!! LOVE IT!!!

  12. Teresa December 6, 2012 at 8:37 pm

One of my favorite traditions is driving around and looking at all the Christmas lights.

  13. Poohbear December 6, 2012 at 8:34 pm

We have a big lasagna and spaghetti dinner on Christmas instead of turkey or ham.

  14. Teresa Gray December 6, 2012 at 6:57 pm

My favorite tradition is that the whole family ends up around my dinning table. We have had to make it larger and moved it into the living room so we can all fit. Spending time together is the best part.

  15. Roberta Bergman December 6, 2012 at 6:06 pm

My favorite holiday tradition is seeing all the lights shining so colorful and bright and seeing how differently everyone decorates.

  16. Susan Baker December 6, 2012 at 4:54 pm

My favorite Holiday tradition is to go to NC and visit our friends and celebrate where it is cold. It for sure feels a lot more like christmas there.

  17. Amanda McCray December 6, 2012 at 4:31 pm

My favorite holiday tradition is that my mom, sister and I wear matching pajamas! We always get cozy silly PJ’s and dress alike. Although we are all adults now, it still makes me happy to know that on Christmas Eve we are triplets :)

  18. Robin Buchholz December 6, 2012 at 1:55 pm

Wow, beautiful layouts. I love them and appreciate you sharing them with us. Thanks for the inspiration!

  19. Lydia Seabron December 6, 2012 at 1:28 pm

Love love both layouts!!! Our favorite holiday tradition is baking a ton of cookies especially sugar cookies because then we get to spend time decorating them which is the most fun of all. Thanks for all the great idea’s.

  20. Bonnie December 6, 2012 at 12:49 pm

Our newest tradition has been to go out for Chinese food buffet! No stress, just fun to stuff ourselves silly and no clean-up.

  21. Maggie December 6, 2012 at 12:39 pm

One if my favorite traditions is “cookie hookie”. Since my daughter was 6 ( she is now 24) we have taken a hookie day from school and work to bake Christmas cookies. We bake ALL day from 8am to 8 pm. We each bake about 5 different cookies, some the same every year, some newbies too!! We package them up for neighbors and friends. I love to scrap my cookie hookie pages!! A great tradition we will continue even with grand kids!!

    • Peggy Sue December 6, 2012 at 1:32 pm

We always go look at all the houses lit up! Then we open our presents because Santa comes while we are out!

  22. Lois December 6, 2012 at 12:28 pm

Love the layouts! Our family tradition is to have a Kid’s Talent Show on Christmas Eve spotlighting their talents or favorite activity of the year. Not only are we treated to their musical talents but we’ve also had a Taekwondo demonstration, a mini fashion show and a stand-up comedy routine. It ends with kids challenging the adults to some humorous stunt like Christmas tongue twisters or coming up (on the spot) with the A-B-C’s of Christmas. We always get some great shots for scrapbooking pages! Happy Holidays!

  23. Becky December 6, 2012 at 12:23 pm

I just got my FIRST order from Kiwi Lane and can’t wait to get busy.(Life is getting in the way) What wonderful inspirations I have been seein during the 12 days of Christmas. Yahoo. One of our most “favoritest traditions” is going to church on Christmas Eve to celebrate Jesus’ birthday along with cake and ice cream and coming back and opening up one present, which of course is NEW Christmas pajamas.

  24. Fran December 6, 2012 at 11:54 am

Because we’re Jewish, my family’s Christmas day tradition is to go to a movie and then out for dinner to our favorite Chinese restaurant.

During Hanukkah, our favorite tradition is to fill the home with the smell of oil frying in the pan while making potato latkes. Before we sit down to eat, we light the candles on the menorah. After dinner, we join the children in a game of dreidel. And for dessert, we have jelly-filled doughnuts. Fattening, yes! But it’s one of our favorite holidays. And, when we get together with extended family, usually on one of the 8 days, each household brings their own menorah to light. We’ve had as many as 7 or 8 menorahs lit at once. It’s beautiful!

Thank you for offering a chance to win the lovely layout. The colors and theme would be perfect for my family’s Hanukkah pictures. All I would need to do is add a dreidel diecut to the page. ;)

  25. PhyllisF December 6, 2012 at 11:44 am

One of our favorite traditions is that Santa always gives a small toy to every person, child and adults. It is the same toy for each person. It always generates alot of inter action with everybody. It might be a yoyo one year or a jump rope. The favorite is a little cork gun. It didn’t take long for someone to figure out that mini marshmellows worked as good as the corks! These play times watching the kids playing with the adults are some of our favorite memories!

  26. Linda Hill December 6, 2012 at 11:29 am

Susan, beautful layouts! I’m loving this 12 days inspirations! One of our family traditions is making homemade meat pies for Christmas! We can’t bake just one or two, because everyone wants a meat pie to take home and enjoy after Christmas!

  27. Lori Hughes December 6, 2012 at 11:17 am

What beautiful layouts Susan! I would be proud to display any one of them in my album!

    Tomato Sausage casserole for breakfast.

  34. Antoinette Barrios December 6, 2012 at 10:00 am

One family tradition is picking out the Christmas tree together than going home and decorating it. We have so much fun.

  35. Sue December 6, 2012 at 9:54 am

Our tradition is that our family and extended family gather at a lodge (about 40 of us!!) for three nights the weekend before Christmas. We have lots of food, play games, share stories, play cards, etc. The best food items are Grammy’s homemade noodles and biscuits. We always go to Christmas Eve services and share Christmas morning with our grandchildren when possible. Love the layout and your design templates. Merry Christmas to all of you at Kiwi Lane.

  36. Lissa December 6, 2012 at 9:50 am

Love all the layouts! Our family tradition is a special Christmas morning breakfast – donettes for the boys (a special treat only for Christmas and their birthday) and homemade biscuits and gravy for the grown-ups. :)

  37. Cindy Maupin December 6, 2012 at 9:17 am

One of our family traditions that I have carried on from when I was young is for my brother & his wife (they can’t have children-so I share mine) to come over Christmas Eve, we have a nice Christmas dinner (because I don’t want to be cooking all day on Christmas) everyone gets to open 1 gift and we laugh & have a really good time.

  38. Judy Cartwright December 6, 2012 at 9:07 am
