dtdoodles

Wow. It seems like an eternity since we have had a DT Doodles! Twice a month is going to take some getting used to. Thankfully we have something in the works for the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month, so hopefully soon we will have something to ease the pain of those two Mondays.

I kinda have to say that I really love today’s sketch. When I saw that it was what we would be having this week I got all sorts of warm fuzzies because it is based off of a layout that I did quite some time ago.

Thankfully for us, two of our talented Design Team members took a stab at this weeks sketch to show you how they were inspired.

I love this fun and fresh birthday layout by our DT Doodles guru, Lissa Mitchell.

And equally as perfect is seeing how the sketch inspired Christine Meyer to create a layout a little more “boy” themed.

KLD DT Doodles January 20

Both are simply amazing! Thanks for doing my sketch proud girls!

If you want to know how you can cash in on winning a $25.00 gift certificate to the Kiwi Lane shop, simply for playing along, here is what you need to do:

  1. Create your layout using this weeks DT Doodles sketch as inspiration. (NOTE! If you do not have the exact Designer Templates as shown in the sketch, simply use the sketch as an inspiration springboard using the Designer Templates that you do have).
  2. Post your layout somewhere on line. This can be our Facebook fan page, your own personal blog or other online gallery.  (If posting on your blog or other scrapbooking gallery, a link back to THIS blog posting would be great—but not necessary—so that we can share our amazing ideas with all of your friends!)
  3. After posting your layout, copy the url of where the layout is posted.
  4. Paste the URL into a comment here on THIS blog posting.
  5. You have until Sunday February 2nd at 11:59 PM MST to have your layout linked to this blog posting
  6. The winner for this sketch will be announced on February 6th.
  7. Please note that this contest is open to participants 18 years and older.

PS – For those of you that participated in DT Doodles #1 and noticed that I announced a winner last week, you weren’t dreaming! My brain is still trying to wrap around sketches only 2x a month so I jumped the gun and announced a winner early. Don’t fret! A second winner will be selected from those that made the deadline last night, and announced on the blog on Thursday.

Have a great day!

I had a lot of fun creating this page for a boy and using the templates I have. I just discovered KLDs a few months ago, so I’m excited to build up my supply of Designer Templates. ;) I used the Tiny Shapes Designer Templates to create the dogs and I’m sure adding a little bow would make them perfect for little girls too!

I titled it 2 Dog-Gone Cute to capture how our son loves to people and dog watch outside. He was just 2 months at the time, so it was a lot of fun to look back at how much he’s grown!

I posted my layout on the KLD Facebook page, so here it is!

What a fun sketch ~ cannot wait to create a layout using it, although I do not have the chevrons so I will have to improvise!!
