How about another amazing round of tips on how to use your Kiwi Lane Designer Templates in ways that you may not have thought of before? Yes please!
Today Design Team member, Staci Jones rocks the house with My Mind’s Eye Kate and Co.—Cambridge Court line and some great ideas on “building down” rather than building up! (And seriously, check those papers out. I literally gasped out loud and started talking to myself!)

Squeal! I was lucky enough to have the chance to work with MME’s Kate and Co. Cambridge Court line this month and it was a perfect match for this months templates. (Really, any paper is a perfect match with the templates, but MME’s collection was so inspiring that I actually finished my project a month early!)
With a lot of embellishments, we tend to layer and build up. I thought it would be fun to layer and build down, giving it a recessed look. The Accent templates, paired with the Tiny Accent Templates were perfect for trying this out. (Any regular sized templates paired with their mini templates would work great for trying this out also.)
To make these embellishments, cut 3 of the same template. (You can cut more or less depending on how many layers you want.)
On your top layer, trace and cut out a Tiny accent shape. (I use an Exacto knife to cut out the shape.) On the 2nd layer, I used the center of Rings 1 to trace and cut the small circle. The bottom layer I left alone.
Using foam squares for dimension, I stacked the layers up.
To finish it off, I grabbed on of the amazing MME brads for a center on the bottom layer.
These were so much fun to do and I am going to try this with more of the regular and tiny templates. Try it out and please share on the Kiwi’s Facebook page. I would love to see some of the embellishments you create!
Have a great day!
