This Way to the Egg Hunt
It’s been a harsh winter this year in Middleton, Idaho but Spring is finally on it’s way! As Easter approaches, our thoughts turn to renewal, hope, and….Easter Egg Hunts! I’ve held on to this Spring paper line from Authentique for awhile, but thought it would be perfect for the vintage Easter card I had in mind!
I decided to make it larger than the usual card size, so I cut an 8.5”x11” white cardstock base and folded it in half.
After covering the top and bottom of the card base with two of the adorable patterns in the Hope paper line, I began the Free-Play process by designing my card using a variety of templates from different sets.
The chevron design from Mini Colter Trails added the feeling of a picket fence to my card and I tucked eggs around it using Tiny Shapes, adding a cute flower to represent Spring.
The cardstock arrow sticker came with the paper set, and I backed it using the large arrow from our Elements Accessory Set.
Adding a Little Shine
I wanted to keep the eggs natural, to go with my vintage theme, but decided to add a bit of shine to them with gold stickles to help them stand out. I simply put a dollop of stickles on my finger and rubbed it onto each egg. This was a quick and easy way to make my natural eggs look a little more special!
I finished the card up with two tiny little butterflies (a Martha Stewart punch that I had hanging around) and added a little spring bling in the form of some golden jewels on each butterfly and in the center of the flower.
I love how it turned out!
Spring has officially come, and creating this card has gotten me excited for our annual family Easter get-together! Let the Hunt begin!
